Making
a large detailed polymer clay cane is always a challenge. It begins with an
idea for a design and it holds a lot of details, meaning in this case, a group
of flower canes and leaves that will all be arranged together to one flower
bouquet cane.
And
even more challenging is the reducing step of the cane. We all want the cane
design to be lovely after it reduced, we want it to appear exactly as we've made
it, showing all its details in a small diameter scale.
So,
it's important to pay attention to the little details while constructing it,
first arranging all the components like a jigsaw puzzle, so there will be no
spacing between them, and then when it is done, adding the background to a full
circle.
If
we've managed that successfully, then when the cane is reduced, chances are
that all the little details are preserved and are shown exactly how we meant it
to be.
Diameter: 12 cm / 4.75 in
Reducing
the cane took me about 20 minutes and I've added a video to my YouTube channel
with a quick version, so you can see that although it's a challenge, it can be
done easily with patience and persistence.
