 Making kaleidoscope canes is one of the most fascinating techniques in polymer clay caning; it has endless possibilities from simple and easy to the most complicated, preplanned and detailed designs. Most of the time the outcome cannot be predicted and the fun part is the result that always exceeds any expectations and always surprising.

Scrap Cane FREE Tutorial

Scraps from canes can be from any part or stage when constructing a cane;
it can be from the petals stage or the cane ends after reducing and cutting the edges.

For this particular cane it is good to have chunks of scrap canes, un-blended or mixed.
Scraps from millefiori canes that have transparent background can be use too in this
technique, there is an example at the end of this tutorial.

Materials:
* Cane ends leftovers from several canes.
* Polymer clay in one color (variable amount) for the outline.
Tools:
Cutting blade, rolling pin, pasta machine and a ruler.

Canes from scraps - Part 1

I love to make simple canes especially from scraps.
After I finish working on some canes, I get a load of scrappy ends, so I mix them together and get new colors…. I love that!
So here are 2 simple ones… they look ahhh ahhhm not so shabby… BUT as I say, everything got potential and when the accessories from them are done, I will show you what potential I am talking about.... yeah!


For me they are simply delicious :)
